to enrich the Tiger Hills area.

At the Gallery in February:  Reclaimed Clay Pottery works by Karen Adamson of Roseile

"Reclaimed Clay" is a term referring to clay that has been obtained from scrap.  Any clay that has not been fired can be reconstituted.  Many of the pieces in this show are made from such recycled clay.

The style and subject matter of the works is also reclaimed in that Karen has drawn from the ancient art practice of depicting agricultural animals as dieties.  Animals that were depended upon were rightfully given this respect.  Rekindling this awareness and elevating these animals in our consciousness is a reclamation.

The Tiger Hills Arts Association, founded in 1978, has grown since that time. Although the Tiger Hills area has a population of just under 13,000 (spread over more than 25 communities), the Arts Association has been able to provide an ambitious number of programs and events to area residents, as well as provide support to cultural groups and individuals in the area.

The Tiger Hills Arts Association's purpose is the fostering and promotion of the arts in the area outlined by the municipalities of Argyle, Lorne, Louise, South Cypress, South Norfolk, Strathcona, and Victoria. It is an arts-service organization serving people interested in and involved in the visual, literary and performing arts focusing on the promotion of family arts related activities. The Board feels that the future of the arts anywhere lies with young people and the participation of these young people in multi-generational activities. A complete cultural perspective is dependent upon input from all age groups and interests. Herein lies the real potential of any program in the arts. The Association provides a rich cultural environment for people of all ages and interests so that children, as they grow, cannot only look back at what the arts has offered them, but also look forward to a lifetime of involvement as a natural sequence of events.

This is an environment conductive to the growth of community fellowship and co-operation.The following groups are members of  THAA.

Prairie Red Coats Band

Country Quills

Tiger Hills Amateur Theater

Circle of Friends

Starbuck Art Club
